Water on Mars

 Water on Mars

Hey everyone,
Mars Rover

Today I'm going to share an interesting scientific discovery made by the European Space Agency(ESA) which is they found water ice on Mars. We have been researching mars for almost 60 years.

The first spacecraft to ever reach mars was the Mariner 4 in 1965. Since then many robotic spacecrafts have been sent to explore mars's atmosphere, its surface and also several robotic rovers are sent to analyze the land and check for water. Although there was a lot of evidence suggesting water on mars like the erosion of soil and canal markings which also indicates that life existed but there was no solid evidence to suggesting it until now.

So, water is there or not?

Korolev crater(water ice)
Yes, it sure is. There have been reports suggesting there is presence of water in the north poles of the red planet but they aren't in liquid form, It is of ice and scientists also found traces of water in vapour state in the Mars atmosphere and also as brine(salt solution) in shallow martian soil. The estimation is that more than 5 million cubic feet of ice is available and this can fill the entire planet up to a depth of 35 meters.

Today we have solid proof that water exists on mars as yesterday the ESA leaked several images showing the thick block of water ice on Mars in an enormous 82 kilometer wide and 2 kilometer deep crater. It amounts for 2200 cubic kilometers. This was found at the north pole of mars known as Olympia Undae. This ice is protected by a layer of cold air. This image was taken by Mars Express High Resolution Stereo Camera(HRSC) and this crater was named after the chief rocket engineer Sergey Korolev and hence it is called Korolev crater.

This can open new doors to humanity we may even have a chance to colonize mars soon and have some amount of guilt and take care of the red planet as we have already made our blue-green planet go worse. As now water is available space travel from Mars to earth may also be possible as the hydrogen in water can be a excellent rocket fuel. There is also very small amount of oxygen on the Martian atmosphere but mostly it is carbon dioxide.

Colonization on mars is not a dream after all.

Fact Flash:

The famous Scientist/Innovator/Billionaire Elon Musk has planned to land people on Mars and the exploration is likely to set within 2040 and he also has a plan to take 1 million people to Mars within the next 50 to 100 years by building the most powerful ITS rockets powerful than Saturn V(currently the biggest and powerful one).
The spaceships would also fly black to Earth using its nine raptor engines.
