Next Generation Cinema(4DX and ScreenX)

 Hey everyone,

                      I'm back with a really cool and interesting topic which is next generation cinema experience. I've recently watched aquaman in 3D with dolby atmos sound and the visuals were so spectacular and the audio was so immersive as in dolby atmos the sound keeps on moving to give you as lively feel as possible while watching the movie. So, I thought to myself is there any more immersive way to watch the movie so we can actually live in it like have a literal feel. The answer i got was 4DX and Screen X. These are the next generation cinema experiences currently available.

 Most of us may have experienced 4DX while visiting a theme park where the seats move along with the action on screen and also air and water blows on our face but what if i tell you that you can actually watch all your favorite movies in this way. Ya, there are actually theaters providing this kind of experiences.

Screen X is also a complete immersive environment with screens covering all your peripheral vision and beyond.

Now moving on.

What is 4DX and how it works?

      4DX has a screen size greater than Real3D format but lesser than IMAX formats but the screen size is compensated by the experience it gives you. In 4DX the seats move along with the scene on the screen the movements maybe up or down,right or left,tilt,staying in a position and shifting left or right.

      It has effects like air flowing directly to your face during action sequences,water sprayed at you. It also helps you to feel the movie environment using scent effects, there is also vibration effects on your seats and tickler at your feet to give you a complete on screen experience.

There are bubble effects to bring life to the buoyant atmosphere of the screen and wind effects which can recreate a sensation of flight and speed or make you experience a breeze or storm,lighting and thunder effects which makes you feel as if thor is landing in front of you, rain effects that shower on the audience, fog and snow effects which brings up a glowing ambiance with rainstorm and warm air there are almost 20 different effects which makes you feel as if you are in the theater.

It is currently the biggest innovation in cinema technology but this experience isn't for everybody. People who go into movie theaters hoping to have a relaxing experience will feel so frustrated because the seats are constantly moving you can even feel a door closing on the screen. Some people may find it very tiring and exhausted as you can't lean on your seats you have to sit in a straight position to keep up with the movements of screen. "You can't buy popcorn or go to interval in between" many people can't take this. The total occupancy is limited to 92-95 seats.

All this said,If you really want to feel your favorite action movie 4DX is where you go.

Now what is ScreenX?

ScreenX basically started from the question why are movie screens always at the center? and Is there any other way to make the experience more immersive?

This question was finally answered and screens have expanded beyond the center frame and to the side walls due to this the size and scale of the content is increased by three times(Godzilla will be thrice as large it is now) and not only this, the movie goes completely beyond the peripheral vision and immerse the audience it has 270 degree field of view.

ScreenX technology gives us a sense of presence without any use of tools. It gives us a strong immersive experience and a well differentiated movie experience. It has been used to screen various genres like horror,action,adventure,fantasy etc.

It is not only used for screening movies but for screening concerts due to its blending and innovative media. It is currently available in more than 300 screens around the world and expanding more. It has an average seating capacity of over 200 seats.

Is there anything more better than this?

 Actually the answer is YES. There is something even more innovative and new which combines 4DX and ScreenX. This has been first launched in seoul,korea and it is expanding slowly and getting mixed response from the audiences worldwide.

FACT FLASH:

The first movie released in 4DX was "Journey to the center of the earth" in seoul at 2009 and The first 4DX cinema theater in India was set up in Thane,Maharastra by cinepolis on 20th November 2014. In India now most 4DX screens are available and all are owned by PVR cinemas.
